$$ in 2011

Last year, I attempted to record all hair related expenditures. Though I know for sure I kept under my budget ($500 for the year), I did become negligent on tracking every last expense.

This year, I’ve set a new budget and aim to do a better job keeping track of my expenditures.

For 2011, I am budgeting $1400.
*$550 for sisterlocks consultation and installation
*$735 for retightenings (guesstimating 7 at $35/hr for 3 hours)
* + about $100 for misc hair purchases + tip

Seems like a lot when compared to how much I would’ve spent keeping my hair in its natural state. However, I was aware the first year of sisterlocks would seem expensive given the cost of the initial installation. The subsequent years wouldn’t be nearly as expensive.

** $30 – Sisterlocks Consultation fee (counts toward installation fee) – Jan 8
** $520 – Sisterlocks installation (remaining fee) – Jan 21-22
** (included as part of install fee) Hair Re Ti (March 5) (6 weeks since install)
** $105 Hair Re Ti (April 23) (7 weeks since last reti)
** $150 Hair Re Ti + Black Rinse + Style (May 14) (3 weeks)
** $90 Hair Re Ti (June 18) (5 weeks)
** $15 on shampoos, rubber bands, scrunchies (March – July)
** $14.45 Lock Loops (July 22)
** $105 Hair Re Ti (July 23)
** $110 Hair Re Ti (Sept 3)  (6 weeks)
**$90 Hair Re Ti (Oct 1?) (approx 4-5 weeks)
** $90 Hair Re Ti (Nov 3) (4 weeks)
** $65 Wedding Day Hair Style + Black Rinse (Nov 4)
**  $95 Hair Re Ti (Dec 10) (5 weeks)

Total to Date: $1479.45
