run, forest, run!

On Columbus Day (10/14/13), I ran the Tufts Health Plan 10K race in Boston for the first time. 6.2 miles in 1hour, 40 secs!  Running a 10K has been a new years resolution for the past 3 or so years but I never mustered enough discipline to make it happen. Well, with some motivation from my “sole” sister, we made it happen. I’m already looking ahead to a half marathon…

Tufts 10k Race Oct 2013

P.S. I just love how light, airy, and bouncy my hair feels as it blows in the wind when I run. I know as my hair gets longer, my ‘locks will get denser and heavier so I’ll enjoy it while it lasts!

Workout Puffs.

Forget braiding/twisting my hair for workouts. Too much work. Instead I pulled my hair into two ponytail puffs. I worked out and biked… Sweated… A LOT… So much so that my hair was drenched. I left my hair in the ponytail puffs until I thought it was dry.

When my hair was dry, I took down the puffs. I definitely experienced a texture change. My hair was stretched (from the ponytails) but also the ends laided down flatter (weren’t as puffy/ disheveled as before). After a wash, my hair has major shrinkage so I enjoy having a bit more length back.
